Nikolas is the manager for the Lab for HIT Impact. In addition to Health Information Technology, Nikolas’ interests include language-acquisition, economic development, and privacy. He spent several years teaching in Japan, after learning Japanese at Oberlin College. While earning a MS of Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University, he interned at the Transportation Section of Pittsburgh City Planning. He then led a research team for Dr. Acquisti at Carnegie Mellon, focusing on discrimination in hiring practices. At the University of Michigan, he has also worked with Dr. Zheng to uncover workflow changes due to HIT implementation in rural practice settings.
